Job Overview

We're looking for a detail-driven and client-focused Accounting Associate to join our team. In this role, you'll be a key partner to our startup clients — keeping their books accurate, their reports meaningful, and their day-to-day finances running smoothly. You'll work with a range of growing businesses using cloud-based tools, with plenty of room to grow your own expertise along the way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping & Transactions: Manage accounts payable and receivable, process payroll, and perform bank reconciliations through our cloud platform, Odoo.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements including balance sheets, profit & loss reports, and cash flow summaries tailored to each client's needs.
  • Client Communication: Serve as a reliable point of contact for clients — explaining financial data clearly, addressing queries, and offering guidance on accounting processes.
  • Account Reconciliations: Conduct monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and proactively flag and resolve discrepancies.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Assist in building budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to help clients stay on top of their financial health.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously look for ways to streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and introduce automation where possible.
  • Tax Support: Assist with tax documentation and coordinate with senior accountants during tax preparation periods.
  • Systems Management: Maintain accurate and secure client data across cloud-based accounting tools, ensuring data integrity at all times.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in a firm serving small businesses or startups.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in cloud-based accounting software — experience with Odoo is a strong advantage.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a client-first mindset and the ability to simplify financial concepts for non-finance audiences.
  • Analytical Skills: High attention to detail, strong numerical accuracy, and the ability to identify trends and anomalies in financial data.
  • Work Style: Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple client accounts independently, while collaborating effectively within a remote team.
  • Certifications (Preferred): ACCA, CMA, or any relevant bookkeeping certification is a plus.

The Business Development Lead will play a critical role in positioning Fintler as a trusted financial partner for SMEs, startups, and institutional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1.    Revenue Ownership & Pipeline Management

  • Drive revenue growth through structured business development efforts
  • Build and manage a strong, qualified pipeline aligned with company objectives
  • Lead the full sales cycle: outreach, qualification, proposal, and closings.
  • Focus on acquiring high-quality clients with long-term potential

2.    Strategic Partnerships & Channel Growth

  • Build and manage relationships with key ecosystem players (accelerators, funding institutions, government entities)
  • Identify and develop partnership-driven opportunities
  • Strengthen referral and network-based revenue channels

3.    Client Qualification & Commercial Positioning

  • Apply structured client screening to ensure alignment with Fintler’s service model
  • Understand client financial needs and position appropriate services (CFO, accounting, capital raising)
  • Prioritize quality opportunities that align with delivery capacity

4.    Deal Conversion & Execution

  • Improve pipeline conversion through strong qualification and follow-up
  • Lead proposal development in coordination with the delivery team
  • Ensure alignment between commercial commitments and delivery capabilities

5.    Governance & Process Discipline

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM pipeline tracking
  • Ensure compliance with internal business development processes and approvals
  • Follow structured governance in proposal issuance and client onboarding

6.    Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and support Business Development Associate
  • Build and improve BD processes, playbooks, and reporting structures
  • Contribute to strengthening the overall business development function

Deliverables:

  • A structured monthly closing and reporting calendar with documented procedures.
  • Regular reporting packages and reconciliations as outlined above.
  • Updated tax compliance tracker and E-Invoicing readiness report
  • Updated policy and procedure documents for Finance Operations.
  • A final handover report summarizing key achievements, findings, and recommendations

  • 4–7 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Growth roles.
  • Experience in financial services, consulting, or startup ecosystem is preferred
  • Strong understanding of SMEs and business landscape in Oman/GCC
  • Proven ability to build pipelines and close deals
